SPACE FOR THE CITY (2016) is a participatory urban design project commissioned by the municipality of The Hague, the Netherlands. For three months, we conducted spatial fieldwork to indicate the potentials and pitfalls of this urban district. In collaboration with the diverse inhabitants of urban district Loosduinen, this project resulted in an design proposal for Loosduinen 2040. Close to the dunes and the North Sea, we proposed to further integrate the (social) housing projects with the natural landscape. The project was conducted in the context of Agenda Ruimte voor de Stad 2040, in collaboration with project developer Wessel Tiessens, anthropologist Renee Rooijmans and psychologist Marjolein Rijskamp.
